How a change actually happens
Every write goes through two steps.
Step one: the preview. When your assistant tries to create a campaign, update a budget, pay a PR order, or add a tracked event, the first call does not perform it. It returns a preview describing exactly what would change, along with a single-use confirmation token.
Step two: your approval. Only after you say yes does the assistant call back with that token to carry the action out.
So a budget change looks like this in conversation: you ask, the assistant comes back with "this will raise Campaign 41's daily budget from $200 to $500, leaving $1,340 in your wallet, confirm?", and nothing has happened yet. If you say no, or change the subject, nothing happens at all.
What makes the token safe
The confirmation token is not a general permission slip:
- It is single use. Confirming twice does not run the action twice.
- It is bound to the person and the connection that previewed it. Another connection cannot confirm it.
- It expires after 15 minutes. A stale preview from an old conversation cannot be confirmed later.
- It names one specific action with specific values. It cannot be pointed at a different campaign or a larger amount.
What to look for in a preview
Read the numbers, not the summary. A good preview tells you the resource by name and id, the before and after values, and, for anything involving money, the total and the balance you would be left with.
If a preview does not match what you asked for, say no. The assistant will not proceed, and you can restate what you wanted.
Actions that need more than a preview
Some things are refused outright rather than previewed:
- Anything above your connection's access level.
- Anything that would take a single day's spending past your daily cap.
- Paying an order your wallet cannot cover. The payment fails cleanly with no partial charge.
After the fact
Every confirmed action is written to an append-only activity log with its outcome, visible under Account → AI Agents. Actions committing $250 or more also email the account owner. See Monitoring and revoking agent access.
