Offering PR Distribution on Your Site

Set up your site to receive paid press release placements from Mintfunnel advertisers — content types, publishing method, and auto-approve.

Last updated

Mintfunnel publishers can opt into the PR distribution network in addition to (or instead of) the native ads network. Once you've enrolled, advertisers can send paid press releases targeting your site, you approve or reject each one, and your wallet is credited the moment the placement goes live.

Before you start

  • A Mintfunnel publisher account with at least one site enrolled.
  • A way for new articles to get onto your site: either the Mintfunnel WordPress plugin, an HTTP API endpoint you can wire up, a Zapier account, or a manual workflow.

Step 1: Enable PR distribution

Go to your Services page (app.mintfunnel.co/publisher/services) and click Enable PR distribution on the PR card. You'll be taken to the setup page.

Step 2: Choose your content types

Content types tell us what kind of articles your site is willing to accept (for example: company news, product launches, sponsored op-eds, market commentary). Advertisers see these tags when choosing where to place their release, so being specific helps you get more relevant orders.

You can pick from the standard list or add custom types. You can edit these later if your editorial mix changes.

Step 3: Pick a publishing method

This is how new articles get onto your site once you approve a placement. Pick whichever fits your workflow:

  • WordPress Plugin — the easiest path if your site runs WordPress. Install the Mintfunnel plugin, connect it to your account, and approved placements appear as drafts in your CMS automatically. See Installing & Configuring the Mintfunnel WordPress Plugin.
  • API / Webhook — if you have a developer, give us an HTTPS endpoint to POST to and we'll send the article payload there each time you approve a placement. We sign the request with a shared secret so you can verify it. See Webhook / API Set Up Guide for Publishers.
  • Zapier — paste in a Zapier hook URL and connect Ghost, Webflow, Shopify, or any of 1,000+ apps with no code. See Zapier Set Up Guide for Publishers.
  • Manual — nothing automated. You'll read the article from the Mintfunnel approval queue, publish it on your own, then come back and click Mark Published. Fine for low-volume publishers, but everyone else should pick one of the automated paths.

You can change publishing method at any time without losing any settings — just visit the setup page and switch.

Step 4: Auto-approve (optional)

By default, every placement that targets your site waits in your approval queue until you review it. If you'd rather skip the queue and have placements dispatched automatically, toggle Auto-approve on.

Important: Auto-approve only skips your own queue. Every placement is still reviewed by the Mintfunnel Team for content guideline compliance before it reaches you — Auto-approve doesn't bypass that.

Step 5: Public portal (optional)

You can opt to expose a public portal page at mintfunnel.co/pr/your-slug that shows your accepted content types, pricing, and a link to order direct from advertisers. This is purely promotional — your approval queue still gates anything published.

Step 6: Submit for activation

Once you've finished the setup steps, click Activate PR distribution. The Mintfunnel Team reviews your setup and activates you, typically within one business day. You'll get an email when you're live.

After activation

New placements show up in your approval queue. See Approving PR Orders in Your Queue for the day-to-day workflow.

Disabling PR distribution

You can pause new placements at any time from the setup page (click Disable PR distribution). Any placements already approved still proceed; new orders stop coming in until you re-enable.
