This is the hands-on, step-by-step guide to actually launching an ad campaign and placing a PR order for a client, billed to that client's wallet. For the layout of the workspace and how the per-client cockpit and cross-client Overview fit together, read Managing client campaigns and PR orders first; this article picks up where that one leaves off.
Before you start
Two things need to be true before you can spend on a client's behalf:
- Your role allows it. Owner, Admin, and Manager can run campaigns and PR for any client; a Member can do it for their assigned clients only; an Analyst cannot. See Team roles and permissions.
- The client's wallet has funds. Both ad campaigns and PR orders are paid from the client's wallet, and the money has to be there before you launch. Allocate a budget from your central wallet first if needed. See Funding and wallets.
Also remember the account-level cap: if the client linked to you read-only, everything below is view-only for your whole agency, no matter your role.
Launch an ad campaign for a client
- Open the client from your Clients hub to reach their cockpit.
- Go to the Campaigns tab and start a new campaign.
- Build the campaign the same way you would any Mintfunnel campaign: creative, targeting, bid, and budget. The daily and total budget you set will be reserved against the client's wallet.
- Submit. If the client's wallet does not have enough to cover the budget, Mintfunnel tells you the balance is insufficient and does not create the campaign; top up the client's wallet and try again.
- The campaign lands on the client's account, credited to your agency and to you as the creator.
To change a campaign later (edit, pause, resume, or adjust budget), open it from the same Campaigns tab. Raising a budget can require more available balance in the client's wallet, and activating a paused campaign checks the wallet the same way a new one does.
Conversion tracking
To make the campaign report the outcomes your client cares about (signups, deposits, wallet connects, onchain conversions), configure goals, the tracking pixel, and the attribution window on the campaign's Setup tab. The full walkthrough is in Goal and conversion tracking for client campaigns.
Place a PR order for a client
- Open the client from the Clients hub.
- Go to the PR orders tab and start a new order.
- Work through the standard PR intake: pick the placements or package, provide the release details, and review the total. The order is placed on the client's account.
- Pay from the client's wallet. As with campaigns, the client's wallet must cover the order; if it does not, add funds first.
- Submit. The order enters the normal PR pipeline (submission, review, publication, completion) and is credited to your agency and to you.
The PR intake here is the same one every advertiser uses; the only difference is that you are acting for the client, so the order and the charge land on the client's account rather than yours. Advertiser-facing PR pricing already includes our platform fee, so what you and the client see on the order is the price billed.
How campaigns and PR orders bill
Both spend types draw from the same client wallet. There is no separate PR balance to manage. And in every case, agency-allocated funds are spent before the client's own money, which keeps the client's self-funded balance intact and withdrawable for as long as possible. If a reserved budget is later released (you stop a campaign, for example), the funds return to the wallet under their original source tag. The details are in Funding and wallets.
Everything is logged
Every create, edit, budget change, status change, and payment on a client account is written to the activity log with the actor, your agency label, and before and after values where relevant. The client sees the same feed on their own account. See Reading the activity log.
