Your clients live in the Clients hub in your agency workspace. This article covers adding a client, the difference between creating an account and linking one that already exists, editing a client, setting what their login can do, and suspending or reactivating a client. It also explains the per-client cockpit you will spend most of your time in.
Who can manage clients
Adding, editing, suspending, and reactivating client records is limited to Owner and Admin. Managers and Members run campaigns and PR for clients but do not create or edit the client records themselves; Analysts are view-only. See Team roles and permissions.
Two ways to add a client
From the Clients hub you can bring a client under management in two very different ways. Choose based on whether the client already has a Mintfunnel account.
Create a managed client account
You provision a fresh account for a client who is not on Mintfunnel yet (or who wants you to run a brand-new account). You control it from day one, and you decide what the client's own login can do using the access ladder.
To create one:
- In the Clients hub, choose to add a client and open the create form.
- Fill in:
- Agency: which of your agencies this client belongs to (if you manage more than one).
- Client name: the brand or company name.
- Email: the client's login email. It must not already be in use on Mintfunnel.
- Country: the client's country.
- External reference (optional): your own identifier for this client, for example an internal account code. It is for your bookkeeping and does not affect anything on Mintfunnel.
- Save. The client is created and you land on their page.
A newly created managed account starts at the most cautious access level, view-only: the client can see everything but change nothing until you decide to grant more. See Client access levels.
Link an account the client already owns
If the company is already on Mintfunnel, you do not create a new account. Instead the client links their existing account to you using your management ID, at a scope they choose. You cannot start this from your side: the client initiates it, and you accept the incoming request. The steps are in Sharing your management ID and, from the client's point of view, in Linking an existing account.
Which one to use
- Who starts it. Create a managed account: You. Link an existing account: The client, with your management ID
- Client already on Mintfunnel. Create a managed account: No. Link an existing account: Yes
- Who controls the client's own login. Create a managed account: You (via the access ladder). Link an existing account: The client always keeps full control
- Scope of your access. Create a managed account: You set it. Link an existing account: The client sets it (full or read-only)
- At offboarding. Create a managed account: The account stays; you can unlink or suspend. Link an existing account: Either side unlinks; the client keeps everything
The key thing to remember: you can restrict a client's own login only on accounts you created. On accounts a client linked to you, the client caps you, never the reverse.
The client cockpit
Open any client from the Clients hub to reach their cockpit. It is the per-client workspace, with a tab for each concern:
- Campaigns: the client's ad campaigns, with create and edit flows.
- PR orders: the client's press-release orders, with a button to start a new order.
- Wallet: balance, allocate and reclaim controls, and the client's ledger.
- Analytics: performance for this one client.
- Activity: the full record of what happened on the account and who did it.
Everything you create from a cockpit belongs to the client. The campaign or order lands on the client's account, and Mintfunnel permanently records your agency and the specific teammate as the creator. Running the actual work is covered in Running client campaigns and PR orders.
The Clients roster
The Clients hub itself is your roster: every account you manage, with quick metrics. It respects each viewer's access, so a Member sees only their assigned clients while an Owner, Admin, Manager, or Analyst sees all of them. By default the roster shows active clients; you can include suspended clients when you need to reactivate one.
Edit a client
Owners and Admins can edit a client from the cockpit's edit page. From there you can:
- Update the client's name and your external reference.
- Set the Client login access level: the four-step ladder (view-only, Editor, Manager, Funder) that decides what the client's own login can do. This applies to managed accounts only. See Client access levels.
- Set the Monthly self-top-up limit: a cap on how much the client can add to their own wallet per calendar month with their own card or USDC. Leave it empty for no limit. This limit only applies to a Funder-level client using their own payment method; it never touches the budgets you allocate from your central wallet. See Funding and wallets.
Access-level changes apply immediately, with nothing for the client to accept, and every change is written to the activity log.
Suspend and reactivate a client
Sometimes you need to pause a client without deleting anything.
- Suspend. From the client's page, suspend the client. Their active campaigns stop serving right away, and the client is set aside from your roster. Nothing is deleted: campaigns, wallet, payments, and analytics data are all preserved.
- Reactivate. Bring a suspended client back. Include suspended clients in the roster to find them, then reactivate. The same client account is restored intact, with the same account identity it had before.
Suspension is reversible and non-destructive. It is different from offboarding a client for good, which is covered in Unlinking and offboarding a client.
