An agency account lets you run Mintfunnel on behalf of other companies from one workspace: one team with shared roles, one central wallet you allocate budgets from, per-client ad campaigns and PR orders, cross-client analytics, and a complete activity log. This article is the front door. It explains the big pieces and points you to the article for each one.
Is an agency account right for you
Apply for agency status if you run ad campaigns or PR orders for other brands. If you only advertise for your own brand, a standard advertiser account already does everything you need, and there is nothing to set up here.
Agency features are unlocked by application and approval. Applying does not change your current account: while your application is reviewed you keep full, normal use of Mintfunnel as an advertiser.
The big picture
An agency account has six moving parts. You meet them in roughly this order:
- Application and approval. You apply, our team reviews by hand, and once approved you can build your workspace. See How to apply for agency status.
- Setup. You create the workspace, become its Owner, and land in the Clients hub. See Setting up your agency.
- Clients. You add the accounts you manage, either by creating a managed account for a client or by linking an account the client already owns. See Creating and managing clients and Linking an existing account.
- Wallet. You fund a central agency wallet and allocate budgets out to individual client wallets. See Funding and wallets.
- Campaigns and PR. You run ad campaigns and place PR orders for each client, billed to that client's wallet. See Running client campaigns and PR orders.
- Team and reporting. You invite teammates, give each a role, and read per-client and cross-client analytics. See Inviting and managing team members and Client analytics and reporting.
Two kinds of access, kept separate
Agency accounts use two different access systems. Keeping them straight saves a lot of confusion later:
- Your team's roles. Every teammate at your agency has an agency role (Owner, Admin, Manager, Member, or Analyst) that decides what they can do across your clients. See Team roles and permissions.
- Each client's own login. For accounts your agency created, you also decide how much the client's own login can do, using a four-step capability ladder. See Client access levels.
The two are independent. One governs your staff, the other governs your client. A change to one never changes the other.
Two ways a client comes under management
- You create the account. You provision a fresh managed account for the client. You control it from day one and you set what the client's own login can do.
- The client links an account they already own. A company already on Mintfunnel links to you using your management ID, at a scope they choose. On these accounts you can never restrict the client's own login: the client caps you, not the other way around.
The difference matters for money, control, and what happens at offboarding, so it is worth understanding early. See Creating and managing clients and Sharing your management ID.
Money guarantees you can rely on
Agency money never touches a client's card and client money is never quietly reclaimed. In short:
- The central agency wallet is the only place agency money enters Mintfunnel by card.
- Agencies can reclaim only their own unused allocations, never a client's own money and never spent funds.
- Clients can withdraw only money they added themselves.
- When a client wallet pays for anything, agency-allocated funds are spent first.
- A client can never see, select, or charge the agency's payment method.
The full model is in Funding and wallets.
Everything is on the record
Every meaningful action on a client account, by your team or the client, is written to an append-only activity log with the actor, your agency label, and before and after values where relevant. The client sees the same feed on their own account. Work as if the client is watching, because they can be. See Reading the activity log.
